Description
ZF Factory Richard Mille RM 35-02 NTPT Carbon Rafael Nadal
A mechanical triumph that introduces a fully functional, skeletonized RMAL1 clone caliber within an ultra-lightweight forged carbon chassis.
Powered by Custom RMAL1 Automatic Caliber
The custom-engineered RMAL1 clone movement is the defining feature of this release, entirely replacing the heavily compromised architectures of past generations. By utilizing an integrated skeletonized design, the mechanism allows complete visual pass-through from the dial to the exhibition caseback. The movement bridges are machined from grade 5 titanium and treated with a sandblasted black finish, offering exceptional structural rigidity. Furthermore, the variable-geometry rotor on the reverse side incorporates independently machined metal micro-wings, replicating the complex inertia-adjustment mechanism of the genuine caliber without resorting to synthetic plastics.
Regulated to approximately ±10–15 seconds per day. The balance wheel position and shock absorber geometry have been meticulously aligned to match the genuine RMAL1 specifications.
- ✅ Power Reserve: Approximately 36 hours
- ✅ Complications: Hours, minutes, seconds, fully skeletonized gear train display
- ✅ Winding Direction: Bidirectional
Technical Specifications
The tonneau case measures 44.50mm by 49.94mm with a highly accurate thickness of 13.2mm to 14.0mm. The entire watch weighs approximately 65 to 75 grams, offering an exceptionally lightweight profile on the wrist.
Exposes the intricate gearwork, featuring a three-dimensional yellow RM35-02 RAFA nameplate at 9 o’clock with razor-sharp pad printing and zero edge bleed.
Displays a randomized, Damascus-like layered texture with a subtle silver-grey sheen under direct light, secured by iconic grade 5 titanium spline screws.
Imported high-density fluoroelastomer construction. Delivers superior elasticity and a matte texture that resists dust accumulation and premature aging.
Why ZF Factory for This Reference?
Many collectors ask: Why not KVF or other entry-level factories?
The primary distinction lies in the movement architecture and resulting case thickness. Older iterations relied on standard base calibers hidden beneath thick, static decorative plates. This forced the case profile to exceed 15mm, resulting in a disproportionate blocky appearance. ZF engineered the custom RMAL1 to fit within a 13.2mm–14.0mm case, closely mirroring the genuine proportions while passing for mechanical transparency.
Full Disclosure: While the variable-geometry rotor features independently machined metal micro-wings that look visually identical to the genuine article, the adjustable inertia functionality is purely cosmetic and does not dynamically alter the winding efficiency.

Collector Q&A
Q: Does the center wheel actually rotate with the time, or is it a static decoration?
A: Unlike older iterations from low-end factories that used static decorative plates, the ZF custom RMAL1 movement features a fully functional center wheel that rotates dynamically as the watch runs.
Q: Is the carbon pattern identical to the genuine RM 35-02?
A: The NTPT carbon fiber used by ZF shares the same manufacturing process of layering carbon filaments, meaning every single case has a unique, randomized Damascus-like pattern. While the texture and silver-grey sheen are highly accurate, no two watches—genuine or clone—are exactly alike.
Q: Will the red rubber strap attract lint and dust over time?
A: No. The ZF RM 35-02 uses an imported, high-density FKM (fluoroelastomer) rubber strap. This material has a matte finish that is highly resistant to dust accumulation, unlike cheaper silicone alternatives.
Q: Are there any noticeable rotor noises given the skeletonized case?
A: Yes. Because the case back is fully transparent and the movement is heavily skeletonized, the automatic winding rotor is more audible than in a standard closed-caseback watch. This is a common trait of both the replica and the genuine RM 35-02.
